Du kleines grünes Tier
auf rauhverputzter Wand
bist du ein Fakir
aus dem Gutenmorgen! land?

Jetzt kriech nicht unter das Scharnier
von der Terassentür
sonst wirst du noch gezweckt!
War nicht so gemeint
Du hast mich halt erschreckt

Heh, Gecko! Knopfauge

Visitor
You little green animal
on rough-plastered wall
are you a fakir
from the good morning! land?

Now don’t crawl under the hinge
of the patio door
otherwise you will be tweaked!
Was not meant like that
You just scared me

Hey gecko! Button eye
come out and don’t fall off the wall
How did you do it?
How? With Van der Waals force?
That is very interesting

Morgen

was hier wohl niemand löschen mag

Müde Hunde bellen um Ecken
Zapfen fallen von Bäumen
Menschen treten aus Räumen
Ameisen helfen den Tisch zu decken

(Aus meinem Archiv. Sommer 2000 in Rom)

Morning
It’s amazing how easy it is to get up here
just because it’s already light outside
because the sun is almost over the mountain
Nice that a wind is still blowing

Roosters greet the day loudly
Rome greets back from afar
and still burning in the distance
what nobody wants to put out

Tired dogs bark around corners
Cones fall from trees
People step out of rooms
Ants help to set the table

Nacht

Schön, dass die Menschen Licht anzünden
sei`s, um sich zurechtzufinden
oder weil sie nachts noch lange lesen
Ganz egal aus welchen Gründen
sie mit Licht von ihrem Dasein künden
Schön, dass die Menschen Licht anzünden

Schön, wie die Zikaden…
Schön, dass es schwer ist, zu beschreiben
wie sich`s anhört
wenn Insekten Bein an Flügel reiben
oder wie auch immer die das machen
Schön, wie die Zikaden…

Schön, wenn dann wie abgesprochen
plötzlich alle Beinchen ruhn
Schön, dass es schwer ist, zu beschreiben
wie Zikadenmänner sich beweiben
oder was auch immer die dann treiben
Schön, wie die Zikaden schweigen
Schön, dass wir das gleiche tun

Night
It’s nice that people light the lights
be it to find their way
or because they read for a long time at night
No matter what the reason
they announce their existence with light
It’s nice that people light the lights

Nice, like the cicadas …
Nice that it is difficult to describe
how it sounds
when insects rub leg against wing
or whatever they do
Nice, like the cicadas …

Nice if then as agreed
suddenly all legs rest
Nice that it is difficult to describe
how cicada men mate
or whatever they do
Nice how the cicadas are silent
Nice that we do the same

Abend

Von Tivoli her weht ein Wind
und greift aus Rosmarin und Lorbeerbäumen
nach meiner Nase

Beim Nachbarn weint ein kleines Kind
und weckt aus Nachtfalterfreundlichen Träumen
Fledermäuse zum Fraße

(Aus meinem Archiv. Sommer 2000 in Rom)

Eve
A wind is blowing from Tivoli
and out of rosemary and laurel trees
reaches for my nose

A small child cries at the neighbor’s
and awakens from moth-friendly dreams
Bats for a meal

(From my archive. Summer 2000 in Rome.)

Nachmittag

Jetzt sich aus dem Schatten wagen
und den trägen Leib
zum Wasser tragen
und sich mit Behagen
in das selbige versenken
und an Sprudel sich zu laben
und all jener zu gedenken
die all das nicht haben

Jeder würde jetzt so handeln
Doch eben weil ich frei hab
und nicht handeln muss
bleib ich im Schatten
Schluss

(Aus meinem Archiv. Das ist im Sommer 2000 in Rom entstanden. Kann nicht jeder Text von sich sagen.)

Afternoon
Now venture out of the shadows
and the sluggish body
carry to the water
and comfortable
sink into the same
and feasting on sparkling water
and to remember all those
who don’t have all of that

Everyone would act like that now
But just because I’m free
and doesn’t have to act
I stay in the shade
Enough

No surprise
When the Minister of Magic came to the office this morning, he found the Department of Mysteries tiled in blue. He knew exactly that he had not ordered this, and even to everyone he spoke to, the fact seemed mysterious, which was naturally to be expected, which is why no one was willing to raise more than one eyebrow and immediately got back to business.

Gelegenheit verpasst

Missed the opportunity
In view of all the bullshit, we should have put a big fire under gods butt for a long time. Unfortunately, no one had a lighter on hand that day.

Ich und ich

Ganz meinerseits.

Und das mir.

: Ick.

Was sich beim Aufräumen eben so findet.)

I and I
   Hello, it’s me.
: Hello, uh, pleasant.
   On my part.
: Uh, have we seen each other before?
   That’s what I mean, it’s me: I.
: It’s clear, I don’t know you.
You don’t know me, uh, my?
   But it’s me, uh, I!
: Slowly now, what’s your name?
   Klaus-Ute? Hans-Klara? Schubidu?
Stupid question, I’m me and I’m called like you.
: Hm. Heinz felt pen? Rumpelstilz? Grisu?
Enough joking, that goes too far!
: Karl stopper? Bottleneck? Beautiful maid
Enough! Out! I don’t want to hear anything anymore!
: Excuse me gentlemen, may I briefly interrupt?
Could it be that … you are not …
: Pope Paul? Ulf-Tina? Main dish?
: No, it’s on my tongue, just …
: Korbinian-Kilian gravy?
: Something like that, Russian, something with Mmpf.
   I don’t believe that, I don’t believe that.
: Schlpmf? Stocking? Music is trump?
: No, no, it wasn’t. Oh tricky …
   I’m going nuts!
: My God! Now I know who you are!
The fourth child from cousin Karl!
   But not! It’s me! I!
: Hm.
: Hm.
   Me, of all people!
: Gentlemen, who gets the beer?
: I.
: I.
   No, I!
