Was kaum jemand weiß, ist, dass es in Italien verboten ist, irische Volkstänze in der Öffentlichkeit zu praktizieren. Das hat schon einige irische Touristen in Verlegenheit gebracht, aber Unwissenheit schützt bekanntlich nicht vor Strafe. Ein, wie ich finde, äußerst vernünftiges Verbot.
Different countries, different customs – What hardly anyone knows is that performing Irish folk dances in public is prohibited in Italy. This has caused embarrassment for quite a few Irish tourists, but as the saying goes, ignorance is no excuse. A ban that I, for one, find extremely sensible.
