Second Course – A mixed, fried „Real“ is definitely preferable to an unmixed, unfried „Fake“! (Sorry for that!)

News from God – God is actually more of an outdoorsy type, but—much to his own annoyance—he hardly ever gets out. He often can’t even manage a simple walk through town because his three persons can’t agree on whether the weather counts as good, what to wear, whether to stop somewhere for a bite, which route to take, or—for that matter—why they shouldn’t just stay home and binge-watch a few series. In the end, the whining Son usually prevails—the one who would have much preferred joining the Navy to entering his father’s redemption business. So off they go for a stroll through the pedestrian zone, with the Son getting all worked up because he thinks young women are checking them out, even though in reality no one is looking and everyone is simply going about their daily business.

A Correction – Life is neither a construction site nor a long, tranquil river; rather, it is a narrow alleyway with nowhere to sit, ending at a locked door. If this metaphor doesn’t appeal to you—perhaps because your life resembles a ten-lane highway or a department store just before closing time—then so be it. Ultimately, life couldn’t care less which metaphor you choose: even if you believe you can determine the direction, you are still riding a driverless train down a steep slope. You don’t like that metaphor either? As I said, it makes no difference at all, for in the end, the curtain falls and (ad infinitum)

News from the Animal Kingdom – Many cities are already grappling with pigeons, rats, and vermin—and now a new problem has emerged: an increasing number of people are complaining about wild horses loitering in public green spaces and—increasingly—nesting on rooftops, where the risk of being chased away is lower. „They’re shitting all over my balcony!“ is how one tenant describes the situation. It is difficult to drive the animals away, even though horses are naturally skittish prey animals that tend to flee. By now, even the doves—the symbolic birds of peace—are joining the chorus of the dissatisfied, as the horses are stealing their nesting spots, and are advocating the use of force.
