Neulich war ich in Oberösterreich wandern und da wurde ich Zeuge einer sehr ungewöhnlichen optischen Täuschung. Als ich nämlich gerade auf das Dachsteingebirge zuging, sah es für einen Moment so aus, als sei da in der Ferne gar kein Gebirge, sondern als schaute ich die Fassade eines Hauses hinauf; die Vegetation hatte sich in Geranien verwandelt und in die Landschaft schien etwas eingeschrieben zu sein. Vielleicht war es nur ein Marketingtrick des örtlichen Fremdenverkehrsamtes, aber es wirkte, denn sogleich folgte ich dem Bedürfnis, in ein Gasthaus einzukehren und in der Tat war man dort sehr gastfreundlich.
Optical illusion – Recently I was hiking in Upper Austria and there I saw a very unusual optical illusion. As I was walking towards the Dachstein Mountains, it looked for a moment as if there weren’t any mountains in the distance, but as if I was looking up the facade of a house; the vegetation had turned into geraniums and something seemed to be inscribed in the landscape. Maybe it was just a marketing ploy from the local tourist office, but it worked, because I immediately followed the need to stop at an inn and they were indeed very hospitable.
