Wie Forscher des Max-Planck-Instituts für Festkörperforschung in Stuttgart mitteilen, hat die Erderwärmung nun sogar dazu geführt, dass bisher unauffällige Strom- und Signalmasten Blüten austreiben. Den Forschern zufolge müssen wir uns darauf einstellen, dass sich besonders die üblichen Donaumasten in den kommenden Jahrzehnten unkontrolliert ausbreiten und konkurrierende Arten aus Holz und Kunststoff aus ihren ökologischen Nischen vertreiben werden. Garten- und Balkonbesitzer werden aufgefordert, junge Triebe rigoros zu entfernen und auf dem örtlichen Wertstoffhof abzuliefern.
