Falls sich wer wundert, weshalb der Nikolaus heute nicht gekommen ist: Er hat sein miserabel gedämmtes Haus am Nordpol verkauft (die hohen Strompreise!) und sich dafür eine lustige Hüpfburg in Süditalien gekauft, wo es noch schön warm ist. Schließlich ist der Nikolaus auch nicht mehr der Jüngste und muss auf seine Gesundheit achten. Sollten Sie dennoch Süßigkeiten im Schuh oder Strumpf vorfinden, war es vermutlich nur der nette Arbeitskollege.

Santa’s house – In case anyone is wondering why St. Nicholas didn’t come today: He sold his miserably insulated house at the North Pole (the high electricity prices!) and bought a fun bouncy castle in southern Italy, where it’s still nice and warm. After all, Santa Claus is no longer the youngest and has to take care of his health. If you still find sweets in your shoe or stocking, it was probably just your nice work colleague.

Alles hat zwei Seiten, auch der Klimawandel. Natürlich ist es nicht so toll, dass sich die Erde erwärmt, aber wenn es wie neulich nicht Hunde und Katzen regnet, sondern statt widerlich nasskalter Flocken kleine kuschelige Welpen schneit, kann sich wirklich niemand, der noch ganz bei Trost ist, ernsthaft beschweren.

Climate change – Everything has two sides, including climate change. Of course it’s not so great that the earth is warming up, but when it’s not raining dogs and cats like the other day, but instead of disgustingly wet and cold flakes it is snowing little cuddly puppies, really no one who is still in their right mind can seriously complain.

Als die Metzgerinnung in Deggendorf neulich eine neue Methode der Betäubung vor der Weideschlachtung ausprobierte, war es auch wieder nicht recht, denn das Fremdenverkehrsamt jammerte sogleich, die Betäubung mit Gas schon auf der Weide sei grundsätzlich keine schlechte Idee, aber es sei nicht so klug, das ausgerechnet auf der Weide neben dem Campingplatz zu machen. Es seien zwar bloß ein paar norddeutsche Touristen erstickt, aber auch das sei nicht gut fürs Geschäft und der Fleischertrag sei auch nicht wirklich relevant.

Humane slaughter – When the butchers‘ guild in Deggendorf recently tried out a new method of stunning before slaughtering on the pasture, it wasn’t right either, because the tourist office immediately complained that stunning with gas on the pasture was not a bad idea in principle, but it was not so wise to do that on the pasture next to the campsite of all places. Only a few North German tourists were suffocated, but that wasn’t good for business anyway, and also the meat yield wasn’t really relevant.

Hier hat ausnahmsweise alles Hand und Fuß. Wenn es doch nur immer so wäre!
