Aber wie das mit größenwahnsinnigen Projekten schon immer war, scheiterte auch dieses nicht etwa an einem eifersüchtigen Gott, sondern an einer unerwarteten Steigerung des Schweinedarmpreises, der das Bratwurstgeschäft in der Region auf Jahre hinaus ruinierte.
How it really was – Everyone probably knows the story of the Tower of Babel, but only a few know that the Bible does not tell the whole truth. In fact, the Babylonians did not actually intend to build a tower, but instead built what was then the world’s largest snack stand. But as has always been the case with megalomaniac projects, this one failed not because of a jealous God, but because of an unexpected increase in the price of pig intestines, which ruined the bratwurst business in the region for years to come.
