Neuerdings nisten einige dieser seltsamen behaarten und etwa hühnergroßen Vögel unter dem Dachvorsprung meines Hauses. Sie sind ja eigentlich ganz putzig, aber anscheinend blind wie Maulwürfe, denn ständig fliegen sie irgendwo dagegen und taumeln dann wie betrunken durch die Luft. Das wäre ja noch lustig, wenn sie beim Nachbarn nicht schon zwei Fensterscheiben zerstört hätten. Eines der Viecher hat den Aufprall nicht überlebt und hätte beinahe den Hausmeister unten im Hof erschlagen. Dafür fressen sie die Tauben und machen in der Früh keinen Lärm. So hat alles seine Vor- und Nachteile.
News from the animal kingdom – Recently, some of these strange hairy and chicken-sized birds have been nesting under the eaves of my house. They are actually quite cute, but apparently as blind as moles, because they constantly fly against something and then stagger through the air as if drunk. That would be funny if they hadn’t already destroyed two of the neighbour’s windows. One of the critters did not survive the impact and almost killed the janitor down in the courtyard. On the other hand they eat the pigeons and make no noise in the morning. So everything has its advantages and disadvantages.
