Der Lehrling hat recht blöd geschaut, als der Maurer ihm gesagt hat, er möge mal eben die Mauer halten, während er den Putz auftrage, aber noch blöder hat er geschaut, als man den Arm dann abnehmen musste. Den Lehrling auf den Arm zu nehmen, ist eine schöne Tradition. Gut, dass es das noch gibt.

Maintaining the tradition – The apprentice looked really stupid when the bricklayer told him to hold the wall while he was applying the plaster, but he looked even more stupid when they had to take his arm off. Poking the prentice is a nice tradition. It’s good that it still exists.
