Im italienischen Trento kann man das bekannte Dreitürenproblem, nämlich hinter welcher Tür der Hauptgewinn und hinter welchen Türen die Ziegen sich befinden, an richtigen Türen in einem richtigen Gebäude demonstrieren. Das Haus stammt aus der Zeit des Faschismus, inzwischen muss man ja sagen: des ersten, und daher lautet die Lösung des Problems im Falle Italiens leider auch: Die faschistische Ziege befindet sich hinter allen Türen zugleich, wie das halt so ist in einem totalitären Staat. Der Hauptgewinn, das wird man nicht nur in Italien, sondern schon bald in ganz Europa wieder wissen, besteht darin, die Türen nicht öffnen zu müssen.

Weil nur einmal im Jahr Dreikönigstag ist, haben die drei Weisen das ganze Jahr über nicht viel zu tun. Ab und zu müssen sie sich in Köln sehen lassen, obwohl dort natürlich nicht ihre tatsächlichen Gebeine aufbewahrt werden, aber das gehört halt auch zum Job. Ansonsten hängen sie wie alle Geister irgendwo herum und langweilen sich. Wenn das ganze Dasein eine einzige lange Zigarettenpause ist, wird sogar das dissonante Gejammer der Sternsinger erträglicher.
