Recently at the Louvre – Isis and Osiris were very disappointed and angry because the only whirlpool in the Louvre was constantly occupied by these vulgar Roman gods.

Merken Sie es auch? Kaum ist Corona vorbei, können die Leute keinen Abstand mehr halten. Nicht nur im Supermarkt kommt es darum immer wieder zu Zusammenstößen.
Annoying! – Do you notice it too? As soon as Corona is over, people can no longer keep their distance. It’s not just in the supermarket that clashes happen again and again.
Dieses Bild entstand 2003 in Rendsburg in Schleswig-Holstein, wo ich jedes Jahr eine Woche im Nordkolleg zusammen mit vielen tollen Zeichner*innen verbringe. In der kleinen Stadt am Nord-Ostsee-Kanal gibt es eine Schiffsbegrüßungsanlage, die tatsächlich jedes Schiff, das vorbeikommt, begrüßt und die entsprechende Nationalhymne spielt. Da dachte ich mir, dass speziell die großen stinkenden Kähne und besonders die strunzdummen Kreuzfahrtschiffe soviel Freundlichkeit nicht verdient haben und erfand die angemessene Lösung. Als wir 2009 zum 20. Treffen der einst von F.W. Bernstein gegründeten Zeichenschule eine Jubiläumsausstellung im Rendsburger Museum machen durften, habe ich die Schiffsbeschimpfungsanlage gebaut und alle Teilnehmer der Zeichenschule haben wüste Beschimpfungen von Schiffen auf Band gesprochen, das dann dort in Dauerschleife lief.
Ship-name-calling-facility – This picture was made in 2003 in Rendsburg in Schleswig-Holstein, where I spend a week every year in the Nordkolleg with many great artists. In the small town on the Kiel Canal there is a ship greeting system that actually greets every passing ship and plays the corresponding national anthem. So I thought to myself that the big, stinky boats and especially the stupid cruise ships didn’t deserve so much friendliness and I came up with the appropriate solution. When we in 2009 for the 20th meeting of the once by F.W. Bernstein founded drawing school were allowed to do an anniversary exhibition in the Rendsburg Museum, I built the device and all participants of the drawing school spoke wild abuse of ships on tape, which then ran in a continuous loop.

Diese Aufnahme zeigt einige Atome im Hirn von Vladimir Putin. Auffällig ist, dass sie alle versuchen, möglichst viel Abstand voneinander zu halten. Offenbar können sie sich gegenseitig nicht ausstehen, etwas, das ihnen jeder vernünftige Mensch nachfühlen kann.
News from science – This picture shows some atoms in Vladimir Putin’s brain. It is striking that they all try to keep as much distance from their neighbors as possible. Apparently they cannot stand each other, something that every reasonable person can empathize with.
