Roald Dahl illustrieren

Im August 2015 war die wunderbare Kat Menschik unsere Gastdozentin im Grafischen Trainingslager des Nordkollegs in Rendsburg. Sie gab uns unter anderem die Aufgabe, je eine Seite der Erzählung „William und Mary“ von Roald Dahl zu illustrieren. So kam ein wirklich sehr schönes Büchlein zusammen. Ich steuerte auch eine Seite und das Titelbild bei.

Illustrate Roald Dahl – In August 2015, the wonderful Kat Menschik was our guest lecturer at the graphics training camp of the Nordkolleg in Rendsburg. Among other things, she gave us the task of illustrating one page each of Roald Dahl’s story “William and Mary”. This is how a really nice little book came together. I also contributed a page and the cover.

Männer sind gar nicht so schlimm, noch viel toxischer ist nämlich Gift. Am besten aber lässt man von beidem die Finger.

All clear – Men aren’t that bad, poison is even more toxic. But it’s best to keep your hands off both.

Weil die Revolution in Österreich bekanntlich ausgefallen ist, hatte man bisher noch keine Verwendung für die in Schönbrunn gelagerten Schafotte. Aber aufgeschoben ist ja nicht aufgehoben.

Reserve – Because the revolution in Austria failed, as is well known, the scaffolds stored in Schönbrunn have not yet been used. But postponed is not canceled.

  1. Deutschland kann nur Weltmeister werden in Jahren, die mit 4 enden.
  2. Aber auch nur alle 20 Jahre.
  3. Außer es findet eine Wiedervereinigung statt.
  4. Weshalb wir entweder bis 2034 Geduld haben müssen oder vorher schon Schlesien heimholen sollten.

What Germany learned from the last World Cup – 1. Germany can only become world champion in years ending in 4. 2. But only every 20 years. 3. Unless there is a reunion. 4. Why we either have to be patient until 2034 or should bring Silesia home before then.

Ich vermute, dass der bekennende Katzenfreund Deix in seinem Leben auch einige heftige Kater gehabt hat, aber ich weiß sicher, dass er eines der schönsten Grabmale auf dem Zentralfriedhof besitzt. Wenn man als Toter beneidet wird, kann man wohl zufrieden sein.

A nice corpse – I suspect that the self-confessed cat lover Deix has also had some bad hangovers in his life, but I know for sure that he has one of the most beautiful tombs in the Central Cemetery. If one is envied as a dead person, one can be content.

Weil Barkeeper und Publikum um einiges jünger waren als ich, nahm ich meinem Alter angemessen einen sehr guten Old Fashioned und genoss die angenehme Atmosphäre. Falls Sie mal in Wien sind: Neustiftgasse 26, nicht weit vom Volkstheater.

Moby Dick Bar in Vienna – Because the bartenders and crowd were quite a bit younger than me, I had a very good Old Fashioned, appropriate for my age, and enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere. If you are in Vienna: Neustiftgasse 26, not far from the Volkstheater.
