Die CSU war lange die stärkste Fraktion im Stadtrat von München, inzwischen ist sie nur noch die zweitstärkste nach den Grünen. Man müsste sie doch loben, dass sie eine vernünftige Forderung stellt, angesichts der katastrophalen Wohnsituation in der Stadt. Wenn es nur eine Möglichkeit gäbe, dieses politische Ziel auch durchzusetzen, wo Grüne, SPD, Linke und alle anderen seit Jahrzehnten gegen bezahlbaren Wohnraum kämpfen. Die CSU steht da offenbar völlig allein. Dabei ist allgemein bekannt, dass die Kernwählerschaft der CSU, die Aubinger und Bogenhausener Erbengemeinschaften, die Hausbesitzer und Vermieter in München nichts so sehr wünschen wie bezahlbaren Wohnraum. Wenn die CSU dann im März die Mehrheit im Stadtrat zurückerobert hat, wird sie hoffentlich irgendwann auch einmal die Bayerische Staatsregierung und die Bundesregierung stellen und dort dafür sorgen, dass die gesetzlichen Grundlagen für bezahlbaren Wohnraum geschaffen werden.
How the CSU envisions its voters (presumably with good reason) – The CSU was long the strongest faction in Munich’s city council; now it’s only the second strongest after the Greens. One would think they should be commended for making a sensible demand, given the catastrophic housing situation in the city. If only there were a way to actually achieve this political goal, given that the Greens, SPD, Left Party, and everyone else have been fighting against affordable housing for decades. The CSU appears to be completely alone in this. It’s common knowledge that the CSU’s core electorate—the heirs of Aubing and Bogenhausen, the homeowners and landlords in Munich—desire nothing more than affordable housing. If the CSU manages to regain its majority in the city council in March, hopefully it will one day form the Bavarian state government and the federal government, ensuring that the legal framework for affordable housing is established.
