Erstaunlich, wie leicht man hier aufsteht
bloß, weil`s draußen schon hell ist
weil die Sonne schon fast übern Berg ist
Schön, dass noch immer ein Wind weht
Hähne begrüßen lautstark den Tag
Rom grüßt zurück aus der Ferne
und noch brennt in der Ferne
was hier wohl niemand löschen mag
Müde Hunde bellen um Ecken
Zapfen fallen von Bäumen
Menschen treten aus Räumen
Ameisen helfen den Tisch zu decken

It’s amazing how easy it is to get up here
just because it’s already light outside
because the sun is almost over the mountain
Nice that a wind is still blowing
Roosters greet the day loudly
Rome greets back from afar
and still burning in the distance
what nobody wants to put out
Tired dogs bark around corners
Cones fall from trees
People step out of rooms
Ants help to set the table
