Drawing Safety Instructions
1. When drawing, ensure good ventilation. But keep the windows closed! 2. Never fill ink into milk bottles. Danger of confusion! Who am I doing this for? 3. In the case of a failed drawing take your weapon and meditate on it. Stay calm! 4. Keep your workplace clean and tidy. Remove dust carefully, avoid greasy stains. Ensure a healthy sitting posture. And above all: take your time!

Was man am 3. Oktober außerdem hätte feiern können: Gestern vor 20 Jahren hat Robert Gernhardt zusammen mit Bernd Eilert im Café der Muffathalle gelesen. Es war eigentlich ein vergnüglicher Abend, doch als ich nach der Lesung Gernhardt darum bat, etwas in mein Skizzenbuch zu zeichnen, hat er stattdessen diesen Bierdeckel verschönert. „Soviel zu München“, sagte er verdrossen. Nun kann man ja durchaus der Meinung sein, dass München keine richtige Stadt ist und sich selbst Fuchs und Hase hier nicht mehr viel zu sagen haben, aber ich finde, die beiden sehen eigentlich ganz zufrieden aus. Vielleicht hat ihm bloß das Bier nicht geschmeckt.

Gernhardt was grumpy
What else could have been be celebrated on October 3? 20 years ago yesterday, Robert Gernhardt together with Bernd Eilert read at the café of the Muffathalle. It was actually an enjoyable evening, but after the reading, as I asked Gernhardt to draw something in my sketchbook, he beautified this coaster instead. „So much for Munich,“ he grimly said. Well, you can be quite of the opinion that Munich is not a real city, where even Fox and Rabbit do not have much to say to eachother, but I think they actually seem to be quite satisfied. Maybe he just did not like the beer. (The german phrase „where fox and rabbit say good night to eachother“, means something like „this place ist out in the sticks“ It’s kind of an agreement among Germans to dislike Munich, wherefore are good reasons by all means).
