Eine neue Studie hat die populäre Hypothese widerlegt, dass Insekten vom Licht angelockt werden und dann solange um die Lichtquelle herumkreisen, bis sie vor Erschöpfung sterben. Tatsächlich konnten die Forscher beobachten, dass die Tiere versuchen, sich von der Lichtquelle in gerader Linie zu entfernen. Es ist also auch nicht wahr, dass sich Nachtfalter vom Mondlicht angelockt fühlen und in Richtung des Mondes fliegen, obwohl das anscheinend hin und wieder doch passiert.
