Sehr lästig ist es, wenn der Tisch so kurzsichtig ist, dass selbst die dicksten Brillengläser nichts mehr nützen. Inzwischen sind schon sämtliche Möbel und Türen verbeult, weil der Tisch immer wieder dagegen stößt. Ich fürchte, ich muss ihn einschläfern lassen, das ist ja auch für ihn nur noch eine Qual.

Half-blind table – It’s very annoying when the table is so short-sighted that even the thickest glasses are no longer of any use. All the furniture and doors are now dented because the table keeps bumping into them. I’m afraid I’ll have to put him down, it’ll just be torture for him too.

Der alte Haudegen dachte wohl, eine Fechtmaske würde ihn schützen, aber der Jäger war am Ende eben doch besser bewaffnet.

Immer wenn ich das Haus verlasse, stehen diese kleinen Wesen, die unter meinem Bett hausen, am Fenster und sehen mir traurig hinterher, aber ich kann sie weder mitnehmen, weil ich sie nachts ständig davon sprechen höre, eines Tages die Menschheit auslöschen zu wollen, und so ein Benehmen soll man ja nicht fördern, noch kann ich den ganzen Tag zuhause bleiben und ihnen dabei zusehen, wie sie Silberfischchen jagen und Fliegen die Beine ausreißen. Sie sind ja wirklich putzig, aber ich habe einen Job und möchte ab und zu auch mal ausgehen. Das ist doch wirklich nicht zu viel verlangt!

Selbst als der Klimawandel schon im Februar zu so hohen Temperaturen führte, dass die Stadt zu schmelzen begann, fanden sich noch welche, die behaupteten, das sei ja nun wirklich nichts Neues, das habe es schon immer gegeben und man möge sich nicht so anstellen.
