Im Hotel Imperial befindet sich das gleichnamige schöne Café. Ich bekomme einen Fensterplatz ganz weit hinten, vermutlich, weil ich ästhetisch nicht zum Publikum ganz vorne passe. Das aber ist ein glücklicher Zufall, da am Nebentisch der Regisseur Terry Gilliam sitzt. Ich zeichne ihn und bitte um ein Autograph. Sein Begleiter sagt leicht annoyed: „O, there’s another one“, und erklärt, dass ich heute nicht der erste sei und sie das Gefühl hätten, gestalkt zu werden, aber der US-amerikanische Python ist erfreut und lobt meine Zeichnung. Nur sein Zöpfchen sei eigentlich ein bisschen länger. Ich bedanke mich und natürlich mache ich dann erst einmal etwas vollkommen anderes.
At Café Imperial in Vienna – The Hotel Imperial is home to the lovely café of the same name. I get a window seat at the very back, probably because I don’t fit in with the audience at the front. But that’s a lucky coincidence, because the director Terry Gilliam is sitting at the next table. I draw him and ask for an autograph. His companion says, slightly annoyed: „Oh, there’s another one,“ and explains that I’m not the first today and that they feel like they’re being stalked, but the American Python is pleased and praises my drawing. Only his pigtail is actually a bit longer, he says. I thank him and of course I go on to do something completely different.
