Essay about discipline – In the morning I stir my limbs to the noise of the alarm clock, throw that thing against the wall, crawl back into the bed / At nine o’clock I hear the old man swearing on the mailbox, I close my heart and my ear, just stay in bed / Get up at noon with dread from horrible dreams, let the scream smother, fall back into bed / At three, torment the mortal shell from the feathers, just think about death for a moment, flee back to bed / Dripping on the floor like liquid wax at five o’clock, pull me up by the wick, melt back into the bed / Flow osmotically through walls to the refrigerator at eight o’clock, the fridge is empty, flow back into bed / Take tomorrow’s alarm clock from the store at ten, bravely set the alarm for eight, go back to bed / I toss and turn in bed sleepless until seven in the morning, bang my head against the wall until the darkness engulfs me / In the morning I stir my limbs to the noise of the alarm clock
