Neulich in Venedig wünschte mir der Kellner sarkastisch „Buon appetito!“, da ich mir erlaubt hatte, zur Mittagszeit nur einen Espresso zu bestellen. Auch wenn er es nicht beabsichtigt haben sollte, ist sein Wunsch in Erfüllung gegangen: Der Kaffee hat mir tatsächlich geschmeckt.
Some wishes come true
Recently in Venice, the waiter sarcastically wished me „Buon appetito!“ because I had allowed myself to order only an espresso at lunchtime. Even if he did not intend it, his wish came true: the coffee actually tasted good.
