Science news – New Zealand researchers have found evidence that the metric system is not consistent either when they recently observed two meters in the wild for the first time. Our idea of the length of two meters is indeed based on models and hearsay dating back to the 18th century, while it is once again becoming clear that metrology is not an exact science. Anglo-American apologists for the imperial units can now feel vindicated, although their silly system is of course neither imperial nor a system.
