Der Klimawandel setzt den Bäumen ziemlich zu, aber anders als man vermuten würde, sind es vor allem die älteren Bäume, die ein Problembewusstsein besitzen. „Wir haben das Waldsterben in den 80ern überlebt“, erzählt ein vom Alter gekrümmter Veteran. „Das können sich die Jungen gar nicht vorstellen! Die halten das hier für normal.“ Keine Spur von Fichten for Future, die Waldjugend ist politisch desinteressiert. „Wenn ich groß bin, möchte ich zu Ikea“, sagt ein kleiner Nadelbaum. Ob dieser Traum in Erfüllung gehen wird? „Ihr seid doch am Arsch! Das könnt Ihr wörtlich nehmen!“ ruft der Alte hinüber zu einer jungen Schonung. Vermutlich hat er Recht, denn statistisch gesehen wird fast jeder zweite Baum in der Papierindustrie landen.

He is probably right, because statistically, almost every second tree will end up in the paper industry.
