Schon die Sumerer und der alte Sokrates haben über die Jugendlichen ihrer Zeit gesagt, sie seien faul und dumm. Wie war das wohl in der Steinzeit? Was für Blödsinn haben die Kids damals gemacht? Nachts das Feuer auspissen? Laut husten, während die Jäger an die Gazelle heranschleichen? Haben sie mangels Bushaltestellen den ganzen Tag unterm Affenbrotbaum gefaulenzt? Vermutlich war ihnen genauso langweilig, wie ihren jungen Nachfolgern heutzutage. Zumindest ist es unwahrscheinlich, dass sie genötigt wurden, ihr Zimmer aufzuräumen und ihre Hausaufgaben zu machen. Insofern war früher doch einiges besser.
Anthropological question – Even the Sumerians and the old Socrates said about the young people of their time that they were lazy and stupid. What was it like in the Stone Age? What nonsense did the kids do back then? Piss out the fire at night? Cough loudly while the hunters sneak up on the gazelle? Have they been lounging under the baobab tree all day because of the lack of bus stops? They were probably just as bored as their young successors are nowadays. At the very least, it’s unlikely that they were forced to tidy their room and do their homework. In this respect, things were better in the past.
